School & Family Activities

Connor is dedicated to fostering a meaningful connection between younger generations and the natural world, particularly within urban areas. As an entomologist, Connor empowers children with the confidence to use nets and entomological tools, allowing them to catch and identify insects. Tailoring the programme to diverse groups and spaces, Connor weaves in games and crafts, creating a holistic experience that sparks curiosity and appreciation for nature.

Connor has delivered 100+ school and family sessions for organisations such as Historic Royal Palaces, Garden Museum, Chelsea Physic Garden, and The Royal Parks. He is first-aid trained, has public liability insurance, and a DBS check.

Connor is also a school workshop facilitator for Thames Explorer Trust. He delivers curriculum-linked workshops which explore the history of the River Thames and the wildlife that is found there.

Throughout the day, Connor ran bug identification sessions for young families in a warm and highly knowledgeable approach, engaging hundreds of people throughout the day. Feedback from visitors was particularly complementary about Connor’s sessions, and we were so happy with his style that we have since invited him back to run a number of different workshops for our public programme.

Connor’s knowledge and expertise really helped to make the Tower of London Moat engaging for our local family audience. He is easy to work with, and adaptable to any situation that may arise. His kindness, patience and generosity was picked up by many of the workshop participants and his session was the perfect balance of playfulness and learning.
